A Tale of Two Sisters: Elisha and Stephanie
Elisha and Stephanie, the dynamic duo behind OURONN, are business partners and sisters. Growing up together, they shared a common interest in building meaningful connections and seeing their community connect. Their shared experiences and complementary skills came into play when they were inspired to build OURONN.
Elisha brings a creative flair to the table. With a background in Multi-Media Design and Development (specializing in Graphic Design) and a keen eye for detail, she has played a pivotal role in shaping OURONN's aesthetic experience. Elisha’s creative passion has brought unique elements to the platform and its marketing materials, including 99+ custom characters that represent what ‘community’ means in OURONN.
Stephanie has always been passionate about technology and all things coding. With a background in Software Engineering, she is the ‘typing-force’ behind OURONN's web, iOS and Android apps.
OURONN: The New Take on Social Media
OURONN takes a different approach to social media. It puts community connection at the heart of its mission. So while you’ll find the profiles, posts, videos, messaging, and topics (AKA hashtags) you’d expect from a social media platform, OURONN uses those features to empower users to connect with like-minded individuals, develop meaningful relationships, and ultimately help to build stronger communities.
OURONN’s features also include “Splashes”, 10-seconds-or-less videos you can upload and “Events” which you can create or attend to further connect with your community. In addition to that, OURONN does away with traditional algorithmic feeds and ads so you can see the content from the people you want to see. And best of all, even with all of those features, OURONN simply does not sell your data.
Additionally (and uniquely), OURONN maintains a physical presence in its local community. The OURONN Team has been spotted behind tables at events, passing out flyers in the community, attending festivals and conferences, on panel discussions, paying it forward with high school students, and even hosting a “Community Social” to help facilitate those in-person community connections!
